The Sino-German Medical Artificial Intelligence Conference, co-organized by Tongji University and the Technical University of Munich, and hosted by Tongji University’s affiliated Tongji Hospital, concluded successfully. Themed “Bridging the Gap Between Developers and Medical Practitioners,” the conference brought together numerous academics and clinical researchers to share their latest research and findings. The conference significantly enriched understanding of the current medical needs in China and Europe, and the transformative impact of medical AI, particularly in molecular imaging for diagnosis and therapy.

It was an honor to be invited as a speaker in this invaluable event, providing an opportunity to connect with esteemed professors from both China and Germany. Shirley presented a multi-step artificial intelligence pipeline for anticancer peptide discovery, included in vitro and in vivo validation, demonstrating the successful use of AI in expediting the discovery of active anticancer peptides. Two novel peptides PCa1 and PCa2 discovered by massive screening of genome sequences from natural sources, exhibited low uM potency and non-significant toxicity to healthy cells, underscores the promising potential of AI in advancing peptide drug discovery processes.

This is the 1st Sino-German Medical AI conference. The 2nd conference is expected to take place in Germany, really looking forward to that!
